Confirm if the RV is the caliber and in the condition as described by the seller.

See how we can make it happen below.

As an advocate we are your Eagle Eyes when you are unable to make time to view the RV in person.  Whether the RV of interest is local to us in Washington State or within the Pacific Northwest (Western Montana, Idaho or Oregon), send us as your “Scout”.

Sometimes you have a great seller or salesperson that you really connect with.  Sometimes that is hard to come by.  Or, you have a gut feeling something “just isn’t right” but the RV seems to be “the one.”   Having the luxury and flexibility of a RV Scout as an advocate, who also happens to be an NRVIA Certified RV Inspector, with a keen eye for detail, sound like a great combination.   Online photos can be misleading or if taken at a certain angle, can hide defects that can impact the value of the RV.  Maybe you want a second set of eyes to confirm whether or not the RV is in fact even worthy of purchasing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much lead time do you need?

Depending upon your needs and our existing schedule we can usually be available for your scouting assignment within 5 business days or sooner if your urgency requires it.  Location, season, weather and travel requirements heavily impact how fast we can assist you.

Who is this service best suited for?

Anyone locally or beyond Washington State who is unable to travel to destinations due to work, family or other obligations.   For example, we have recent customer inquiries from Hawaii and as far east as Alabama.

Can you take photos or video?

Yes, if you have a specific interest in an area or component (s) of the subject RV we can provide photos and video.

If the RV meets my needs can you complete a  formal NRVIA certified inspection after you “Scout” the RV in person?

Yes, subject to having the necessary gear and testing equipment available on hand and subject to the seller cooperating with the inspection.   Ideally, this is planned for ahead of the Scouting assignment subject to your “green light” if the RV meets your expectations after our in person tour and observation of the RV.  The inspection would not normally take place the same day as the Scout assignment.  Formal inspections can take several hours with large RV’s requiring a full business day and the subsequent day providing the report to you for review.

Can the Scouting be combined with a specific item to inspect or customized formal inspection?

Yes.  For example, if you are considering a traditional towable RV and only want a specific area inspected (Roof-Sidewalls- End Caps-Seals) with a formal report, that can be done!  If you only want a stand alone service like an oil, transmission, coolant or generator Fluid Lab Analysis reporting of a Motorhome, you can also have that accomplished!   Maybe you only want a Life Safety check?   You name it, and we’ll make it happen to satisfy your request.

Can you test drive the Motorhome? (Class A,B,C)

No.  Our general liability insurance and common sense requires that we do not drive the RV.  However, we can certainly “ride along” with a seller or dealer.

What are the typical fees?

It is 100% customized for you based on your requirements.   Local or hyperlocal Scouting is naturally the least expense incurred with travel outside of Washington State requiring more of an expense.  We provide you a quote that is paid upfront to reserve your time.  Unique to this “Scouting” service and ordering formal certified inspections, please understand that you are reserving complete business days or partial days for the assignment and we cannot recover that time if you cancel for any reason.   There are no refunds for any third party expenses or reservations we incur required for the assignment (ie, Airline or overnight accommodations, etc).   Local and hyperlocal fees can be as low as $150/hr plus mileage with out of State assignments requiring more of an investment.  If necessary, we primarily fly Alaska Airlines out of Seattle or Paine Field in Everett, WA.
