Do this now!!! We were nervous about buying a used teardrop trailer and got the advice from a dealership to get an inspection on anything we were seriously interested in buying. Tim responded to our inquiry within 24 hours and was inspecting the teardrop within 48! He was very considerate of the seller’s schedule. The seller later told us that he was so impressed by all that Tim did, and that if he buys another RV, he is definitely having them do an inspection. The report was both written paragraphs (many of them!) explaining every nook and cranny of our teardrop, as well as a dozen voiceover videos that showed exactly what he was describing in the writing. We also had a 45 minute phone call after the inspection where he answered all questions. The seller said even he learned things about his teardrop that he didn’t know before!!! Highly recommend Sound RV for responsiveness, accuracy, reliability, peace of mind, knowledge and price. Our cost was $700 but we went into our purchase with zero reservations - Tim even admitted it was a model he had not inspected before but he was so impressed with it he went home and told his wife he wanted one! We bought the teardrop trailer RV two days later, and now 4 months later we have had zero issues and still feel relieved that we have such an amazing resource in the report to look back on. Definitely do not hesitate!

Tim was an absolute joy to work with. He came thoroughly prepared, having done his homework on our specific vehicle before the inspection even began. His expertise is exceptional, and his patience in answering questions and educating us throughout the process was invaluable. He took the time to explain what he was seeing, why it mattered, and what to watch for in the future. Thanks to his thoroughness and guidance, we were able to move forward with our van purchase with confidence, knowing exactly what we were buying and without worrying about hidden surprises. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

I HIGHLY recommend Sound RV Inspections. Tim was able to do an inspection for us 1 day after I contacted him. He was incredibly thorough and spent an entire day inspecting a small class C motorhome. In addition, Tim provided numerous videos of what he was doing and finding. Tim’s inspection gave us the peace of mind that we were buying an RV in good condition.

Tim is very honest and caring, he even refunded some portion that I had paid him due to no being necessary. I am very happy with him and I would definitely use him again.

Had an excellent experience working with Tim to get a used unit inspected. He surpassed my expectations and was very informative, helpful and detail-oriented. I just wish he did tech/repair work too!

Tim was extremely thorough and informative! The videos were very helpful to me. The inspection was done 2 days after booking. Not only did I get to learn more about my new motorhome, but I also raised some of the issues with the seller that were fixed before the purchase was complete. I would highly recommend Tim.

Tim's inspection saved us $12,500 in our negotiations in a private party transaction. He was professional, kind, and very thorough.

OUTSTANDING! We're very pleased with the extremely thorough inspection Tim performed on the class c rv we purchased from a private party. He spent six hours carefully inspecting every aspect of the unit and generated a detailed report with pictures and videos of issues he found. This allowed us to prioritize what we need to address immediately upon taking possession, maintenance issues to address in the near future, and confidence in everything else. Tim clearly answered our questions before and after the inspection and also educated us on rv systems we're unfamiliar with. Whether you're purchasing new, used, from a dealer, or from a private seller, get it checked out by Sound RV Inspections! Thank you Tim!!

Tim is detailed, professional, and truly knows RVs. Customers are always more than happy with his inspections—he has a great eye and often catches things others miss. If you’re thinking about buying an RV, call him first. He can save you from a major headache and a lot of money down the road.

November 16, 2022  — Substantial floor rot directly under Water tank, hidden behind a fixed cabinet.

This is why inspections are important:  Buyer had no idea of several active leaks in the RV with the initial walkthrough and the dealer would never have disclosed this nor is obligated to.  “As is sale”, means as is.

We share a common interest of travel & exploration.  Connect with us.

Whatever your style, as RVrs we all share a common interest of traveling, camping and exploring what this great country has to offer, whether local or far from our home base.

  • If we are hired to provide a comprehensive inspection of your RV, whether you are buying or selling, you will receive an unbiased, thorough, professionally produced report detailing “what the RV tells us.”
  • We will never suggest whether to buy or not buy the RV.  However, armed with your report, your intended camping style, level of experience, travel goals and budget, the decision is yours alone.
  • We adhere to the NRVIA Code of Ethics which, among many consumer driven items, prohibits us from working on your RV for a full year after your inspection  report is generated.   earned over decades of serving our clients.

Scouting –  A Buyer Service:

Is the RV really in the condition described?  Or, could it be a “Gem” in the rough that is poorly marketed and poorly presented for sale?

Does it merit a certified NRVIA inspection or should I just continue my search for other opportunities?**

We have you covered for any RV, anytime for Washington State, Idaho.

For other States, please inquire.

**This service is the answer to:

  1. I want to have you scout an RV I’m highly interested in but before I order a formal NRVIA certified inspection.
  2. I prefer a neutral third party who also happens to be an NRVIA certified inspector instead of the sales staff at a dealer or the owner.

See below for benefits:

  • Video & Photo documentation
  • Roof & Sealant joint observation
  • Sidewall and paint condition
  • Axles & Running gear
  • Slideouts: roof, subfloor integrity and sealants/perimeter seals.
  • Complete a Fluid Laboratory Analysis of engine oil, coolants and transmission BEFORE ordering a formal inspection or to identify whether the RV merits a formal NRVIA certified inspection.
  • Establishing a highly personalized & professional relationship with an owner or dealer sales rep prior to a formal inspection firmly establishes you as a serious buyer and will hold their attention.
  • Anything you want a specific set of eyes on.
